Your editorial liaison for climate research

Veronica Marian

I founded Hello Sol in 2025, at a time when climate research infrastructure was being dismantled just as the work itself was becoming more urgent. Watching federal support for climate science erode made clear to me that the organizations continuing this critical research needed stronger, more reliable communications support—and I decided to build a business to provide exactly that.

The name "Hello Sol" reflects how I approach this work: looking forward with optimism rather than dwelling in doom. "Sol" is the sun—a source of energy, clarity, and hope. I chose it as a greeting to a brighter future, one where climate solutions are communicated so clearly and credibly that they can't be ignored. Even in difficult times, I believe in saying hello to what's possible.

After years in research communications, I've honed the valuable skill of recognizing that complex, important research can seem clear to those who produce it, but often needs a translator for wider audiences. When it comes to climate research, the stakes are too high for your insights to be buried under generic AI drafts or undermined by hallucinated facts.

I'm not afraid of AI tools, and I use them strategically to work faster and smarter. But I know the machine should never have the last word. Whether I'm writing original content, conducting interviews, or refining your AI-assisted reports and newsletters, every piece I deliver is factually verified, clearly written, and distinctly human.

My goal is simple: help climate organizations communicate with the precision and credibility their missions demand. I bring sharp writing, rigorous fact-checking, and an understanding of how AI is transforming research communications—all in service of the climate work that matters most.
